Research BMI in pets

Help us with our research

Many pets are too fat. This gives the same health risks as for humans. To get more information about what the optimal BMI (Body Mass Index) in several pets should be, we started an international empirical research by this website. You can help us by sending us the data of your dog or cat. Together with vets, groomers and judges at dog and cat shows, we will try to define a breed specific optimal BMI for dogs and cats of different breeds. The height of all animals must be measured standing right up, like humans.

A scientific research like this has not been done before and the outcome could be of significant value for the definition and treatment of overweight in pets. Help us by sending in the below survey form, it is anonymous. Thank you!
